UHC Champions

This page features the individuals, groups and countries working tirelessly to ensure that everyone, everywhere, can access the health services they need without financial hardship.

As part of the 2025 UHC Day campaign, we’re looking for changemakers who are driving tangible progress on financial protection and holding decision-makers to account on their commitments. They must be actively advancing universal health coverage (UHC) through policy, service delivery, advocacy, innovation or research.

Champions can come from all sectors and levels of society, including:

  • Health and care workers, frontline providers and patients’ groups
  • Individuals with lived experience influencing UHC reform
  • Civil society and community leaders
  • Youth advocates and youth leaders
  • High-level political influencers and thought leaders
  • Private sector leaders supporting equity in health
  • Academics, researchers, lawyers and economists
  • Policymakers and parliamentarians
  • Ministers and heads of State and Government

Selected champions will be celebrated in the weeks leading up to UHC Day, with their profiles and stories featured across the UHC Day, UHC2030 and Civil Society Engagement Mechanism (CSEM) platforms.

Submissions are open until 30 November 2025, but the earlier you nominate, the more visibility your champions will gain across our global platforms. Please also spread the word through your networks to amplify this call and help us celebrate even more people who are driving us closer to health for all.
