Medical Doctor and Head of Programs and Evaluation for Women in Global Health, Burkina Faso

Aicha Nicole Joëlle Millogo, Medical Doctor and Head of Programs and Evaluation for Women in Global Health

Dr. Millogo is a general practitioner with more than six years of experience in community health engagement. At Women in Global Health (WGH) Burkina Faso, she was the Chapter’s treasurer and is currently the Head of Programs and Evaluation. Dr. Millogo has contributed to promoting women’s leadership in health and improving equitable access to healthcare, especially for women and vulnerable groups, through awareness campaigns and breast cancer screenings reaching hundreds of women.

Dr. Aicha Nicole Joëlle Millogo is a dedicated medical doctor and advocate for equitable health access in Burkina Faso. At Ziniaré District Hospital, she ensures children receive quality care regardless of financial constraints, reducing out-of-pocket costs for vulnerable families. In her leadership role with Women in Global Health Burkina Faso, she drives programs that promote gender-responsive health policies and universal health coverage (UHC). Dr. Millogo has organized awareness campaigns and breast cancer screenings that reached hundreds of women, helping overcome financial and geographic barriers to preventive care. Her efforts focus on reducing inequalities and strengthening trust in the health system by ensuring that cost and discrimination do not prevent access to essential services. Through her clinical work and advocacy, Dr. Millogo contributes to building a more inclusive and resilient health system aligned with UHC principles.

She has demonstrated exceptional leadership and commitment to advancing financial protection for health through innovative strategies, evidence-based advocacy, and strong stakeholder engagement. Her work focuses on reducing financial barriers to essential health services, particularly for vulnerable and underserved populations. She has contributed to strengthening national health financing policies, promoting equity in access, and supporting the design of sustainable social protection mechanisms.
