Every day in my community, I see how early information and simple guidance can change the entire course of a pregnancy or a child’s life. When women are connected to the Social Health Authority and children stay on track with their vaccines, families gain stability and confidence. For me, UHC is not a slogan - it is the quiet progress we make when each household feels seen, supported and protected.
Jamila Waiganjo is a committed Community Health Promoter (CHP) serving in Makongeni Ward, Nairobi County. Her work focuses on maternal and child health, where she educates and encourages pregnant women to attend antenatal clinics and deliver under skilled care. She plays a key role in advancing UHC goals by ensuring that women are registered with the Social Health Authority (SHA) for access to affordable and continuous care.
Jamila also collaborates with the Child Welfare Clinic to promote child immunisation, sensitising mothers on the importance of timely vaccination. Her passion for preventive care and inclusive health access reflects true leadership in achieving health for all.
