From global platforms to district-level planning, social participation strengthens every layer of the health system. Inclusive governance is essential for countries to use resources wisely and advance universal health coverage.
Sarah's work focuses on advancing social participation in health governance at the global level, through a strong engagement in the WHO CSO Commission for instance, with the objective to represent the voices of local CSOs at the global level.
At the national level, she is in charge of a project of technical assistance to lead a political reform in Madagascar for an inclusive and bottom-up strategic planning that will allow for a better utilization of funds at the country level. Also, at the district and regional level, she is engaged in various projects to strengthen the local strategic planning, with an important participatory component to allow the engagement of communities, local CSOs and stakeholders in governance, for budget prioritization. She also advocates at the global level to strengthen national health systems for UHC.
