UHC commitments need to translate into meaningful action. By amplifying community voices and advocating for policies that prioritize inclusive, youth-centered health, we can truly ensure no one is left behind.
As Executive Director of the Youth Platform, Sibu Malambo champions the inclusion of young people in national health dialogues, emphasizing that universal health coverage (UHC) must address equity, quality and accessibility for all age groups. Under his guidance, the Youth Platform prioritizes demand creation and social accountability, initiatives specifically designed to dismantle the barriers young people face when accessing services.
Through community-led monitoring and social audits, Sibu ensures that the authentic experiences of adolescents are captured and presented in high-level spaces, such as technical working groups and the Global Fund Country Coordinating Mechanism (CCM). This evidence-based approach strengthens accountability and drives tangible improvements in service delivery.
Sibu’s influence extends beyond national borders through his regional coordination of UHC advocacy efforts, a role highlighted by his successful hosting of the Regional Adolescent Health Indaba. By linking local sexual and reproductive health and rights realities with broader health systems strengthening, he ensures that UHC commitments translate into meaningful action, advocating for policies that prioritize inclusive, youth-centered health care across Zambia and the region.
