Achieving universal health coverage in Africa requires real political commitment. Fulfilling the Abuja Declaration and investing at least 15% of national budgets in health is not optional—it is essential for protecting our people and strengthening our future.
Hon. Daniel Fortune Molokele is a Member of Parliament for Whange Central in Zimbabwe and Co-Chair of the Regional Parliamentary Taskforce on Domestic Resources Mobilization for Health in Africa. He is a champion of financial protection and Zimbabwe's progress toward universal health coverage. Within his country and across the region, he persistently advocates for implementing the Abuja Declaration commitment to allocate at least 15% of annual national budget to the health sector. He is also a strong supporter of civil society engagement and consistently bridges civil society advocacy with parliamentary action.
